New Regulations for Real Estate Agents

A new regulation for Real Estate Agents has emerged within the Valencian Comunidad. It states that any Real Estate agent dedicated to real estate brokerage within the Comunidad must be registered or can be fined for not complying with this obligation.

The regulation was created in October 2022. Currently there is a transition period until August 2023, to allow time for agents to prepare and register. After August, any agent operating in the Comunidad Valenciana has to be registered or can be fined for not complying with this obligation.

This is already the case in some areas of Spain, such as Catalonia where regulating the real estate industry means the need for agents to have a license proving extensive training and experience.

What this means for you…

In a market as extensive and complex as real estate, it is vitally important to know what you have to take into account when hiring the services of an estate agent. The objective and purpose of being registered is to protect the consumer in the real estate industry.

HomeEspaña is already a fully licensed Real Estate Agent – registered in the Comunidad Valenciana.

We can also verify that we are now a proud member of the APIAgente de la Propiedad Inmobiliaria – an association that has been present in Spanish real estate for many years.
